TYLAH, LUKE, JOSH & RISHI
Mackenna Rose is a Gold Coast artist with a love for songs that hit a little too hard and choruses you accidentally scream in the car. Mixing gritty pop, fearless storytelling, and the emotional chaos of someone who could probably benefit from therapy but chose music instead.
When she’s not trying to claw her way through her final year of school, you’ll probably find her on stage at local venues or surviving late night servo runs after gigs. With a growing local following, a sense of humour, and a fearless approach to storytelling, Mackenna Rose is building a world people genuinely want to be part of. More coming soon.
BURN ‘EM OUT NOW
Burn ‘Em is a dark folk/pop slow burn about losing track of which voice in your head to trust...intuition, the subconscious or everyone else’s.
This song features insane vocalist and her sister, Bayley Pearl, making the competing voices feel personal. ‘Take the clothes off my back’ also plays on the politics of borrowing clothes. The song feels intimate and unsettled, surrendering to the emotional weight of thoughts that were never meant to be heard out loud.
DEBUT SINGLE OUT NOW
Bitter tells the story of someone coming to terms with what they've spent too long excusing.
At its core, the song explores the moment that the truth can no longer be ignored, and you have no choice but to choose yourself. Rather than offering easy answers, BITTER sits with the conversations left unfinished, the warning signs ignored, and the emotional impact that lingers long after the moment has passed.
BLOODLINE
OCT 09
Bloodline is Mackenna Rose’s third release. A sharp, restless alt-folk/pop track about the things we inherit and the systems we’re expected to survive.
Against a city that “never sleeps,” Mackenna turns pressure, ambition and disillusionment into something defiant.
“I would rather be hated, outdated even naked than see the whitest lie you told that night.”
